Friends Landscaping Our World

The mission of F.L.O.W. is to provide a caring hand to urban communities of Grand Rapids proper. To be able to provide assistance in transforming yards to new home owners, with community support. Our dedication is to the local neighborhoods. To be able to effect the quality of life of homeowners and to the public by beautifying curb appeal. To bring much happiness to all who get to enjoy it.

This is a 501C3 non-profit foundation brought to you by WCR – Woman’s council of Realtors and I.C.C.F. – Inner City Christian Federation.

We are raising money to improve the curb appeal of qualifying new home homers in the city of Grand Rapids. This program will not only benefit the home owner, but will benefit the community as well. This is a grass roots effort to give help to some neighborhoods that need a leg up.

How can you help?

Our first community fund raiser is on April 26th 2008 at Naya Restaurant, 1144 East Paris Ave. (Naya will give out $5.00 dinner certificates to anyone dining between 4P and 6P). So come and donate and have a fabulous dinner too.
We are having aYARD SALE! Yes we are having a yard to sale to raise money. We need YOU to donate items to the yard sale. It is spring cleaning time. So bring all your unwanted junk, because it will become someone else’s treasure! You can drop off your items from 7am – 9am at Naya. At 4:00 pm we will be bagging up left over items and taking them to the Salvation Army. (However if you want your unsold items back, you may come back at 4:00 to pick them up. Please e-mail Michelle Gordon at michellegordon@grar.com, if you plan to drop off items for the event. We need you to RSVP so we can plan how many tables we will need.

We also need cash donations. We have about 15 landscapers who have committed to landscaping the chosen yards. They are donating their talents and labor as well some of their plant materials………We need money to pay for the cost of landscaping these yards. Your donations are tax deductible. Donations will be gladly accepted from companies, or individuals.
We will be having a garden tour of all the homes that receive the yard transformation with a garden party in the evening. The garden party committee is planning some fun entertainment, we are sure you will not want to miss. You all know how much fun the WCR Christmas party is. We know how to plan a party! There will also be more fund raisers for this wonderful program.
